About Angele Davis

A proven record of reform and results, Angele Davis is the most qualified candidate to be our next State Treasurer. A successful small businesswoman, Angele Davis also has a proven record of results in public finance and conservative reform, making government efficient and responsive to our citizens.

Born and raised in Louisiana, she has spent a lifetime of service, commitment and devotion to the state she loves. Angele earned a B.A. in Communications after being awarded a basketball scholarship to Spring Hill College and earned her Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Louisiana State University.

Governor Mike Foster gave Angele her first opportunity to serve the public by appointing her Deputy Commission of Administration in 1996. She went on to serve the people as the Secretary of Culture, Recreation & Tourism, promoting Louisiana as not just a great getaway, but also as great place to do business.

Her record of innovative budget strategies that saved money while improving service led to her being named Commissioner of Administration, the State of Louisiana’s top financial advisor and chief administrative officer. Angele’s strong fiscal management as Commissioner and leadership in dealing with the national bond rating agencies led to Louisiana beginning a streak of increased state credit ratings – the first increases in decades and saving Louisiana taxpayers millions of dollars. The Reason Foundation named Davis one of its 2009 “Innovators In Action” for her role in helping create and guide the Commission on Streamlining Government.

Angele Davis is currently the President and CEO of The Davis Kelley Group, working with businesses, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, to solve complex strategic challenges and expand and grow their operations. She understands the problems that business people face and will take that knowledge and experience to the Treasurer’s office.

Angele lives in Baton Rouge with her husband, Judge Tim Kelley, and their 6-year old son, Davis. A lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, she enjoys duck hunting and fishing in south Louisiana with her family. She is a parishioner and volunteer at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge.

Angele Davis is hard-working, no-nonsense, and financially savvy. She’s exactly the kind of person we need and is ready to serve as our Treasurer.
